Make your own wearable art! Join a three-session beginner pottery series and learn how to turn clay into beautiful beads and finished jewelry.

What you’ll learn

  • Session 1 - Thurs, August 6th - 6:30pm (about 2 hours): Clay preparation, jewelry design planning, and bead-making

    • Wedge and prepare clay so it’s ready for shaping

    • Design simple jewelry layouts (necklaces, earrings, pendants, bracelets)

    • Form beads of different shapes and sizes

    • Create clean holes for threading and attachments (eye pins, jump rings)

    • Add textures and surface details; plan glazing strategies for color and finish

  • Session 2 - Thurs, August 20th - 6:30pm (1 hour): Glaze prep and glazing

    • Final prep of bisque-fired beads

    • How to choose glazes that suit your design (color, opacity, finish)

    • Demonstration and hands-on glazing techniques tailored to small-scale pieces

    • Tips to avoid common glazing pitfalls (running, pooling, dull spots)

  • Session 3 - Thurs, Sept 3rd - 6:30pm (about 2 hours): Jewelry assembly

    • Learn basic jewelry-making techniques: stringing, attaching findings.

    • Assemble necklaces, earrings, or pendants using your glazed clay beads.

    • Finishing touches and durability tips so your pieces are ready to wear or gift.

  • Complete beginners or makers with basic craft experience who want to explore clay and jewelry
