8/4 - 8/7 Bottled Memories: A Glass Keepsake Open House

$20.00

Do you have a bottle you’ve been saving from a wedding, anniversary, celebration of life, special dinner, meaningful trip, or simply because the glass is a color you love?

Bring it to 510 Art Lab and we’ll slump it in the kiln, transforming it into a beautiful keepsake. Bottles can become charcuterie trays, flat wall hangings, spoon rests, sun catchers, or decorative glass pieces. We have a few textured and patterned molds to choose from as well.

Drop-off times:

Tuesday, August 4: 2 PM to 7 PM
Wednesday, August 5: 2 PM to 6 PM
Friday, August 7: 10 AM to 5 PM

Please see Emily when you arrive.

All bottles will be available for pickup the following week.

A few important notes:

  • Bottles must be 100% empty and rinsed out before drop-off.

  • Bottles should be close to a wine bottle size. Slightly larger or smaller is usually fine. Very large beverage containers may not work.

  • We’ll remove labels and any materials (the metal ring at the top) so the kiln can burn cleanly.

  • Because kiln work always has a little bit of glass goblin energy, we cannot fully control exactly how each bottle will move, flatten, or finish in the kiln. Kilns do what kilns do - and that is part of the magic!

  • Not all enamel glass paint survives the kiln, so painted bottles may change during firing.

  • If you have multiple bottles, simply add that many to the cart.

  • Afterward, your bottle is food safe, or, it may be painted, decorated, gifted, or hung up as decor.

Bring us your bottle. We’ll help turn it into something usable, and fun!
