Whether you’re a beginner or looking to find a community of follow creators, this class offers an intro to the basic terms and forms of poetry as well as a space to experiment. Generate new ways of thinking and turning those thoughts into poetry and be inspired by each other!


Learn:

  • Introductory terms, forms, and features of poetry

  • How to generate new ideas through prompts and poetry exercises

  • Basics of revision individually and in a group setting.


Dates: Friday, May 1st & Friday May 8th
Time: 6:30pm (approx 2 hours)
Sessions: 2
Materials: We have paper and pens, but feel free to bring a notebook, your favorite journal, or pick one out from our gallery shop!
Ages: 15+
Level: Beginner

Jump start your creativity, learn fresh techniques, and apply your “voice” in a supportive, fun-filled community. Whether you're a beginner or seasoned writer, you'll leave inspired and more confident!

Led by Sara Hoppe - a collector of hobbies who lives on a farm near Freeport, MN. She enjoys spending time with friends, family and her three cats as well as doing just about anything creative. She studied English, creative writing, and German in college, and now works as a proof reader and writer for local newspapers.
