Do you have lots of unfinished quilts? Not sure how to start the finishing steps of free motion quilting on your sewing machine? You will learn how to set up your sewing machine, choose thread needles, and designs for surface quilting. (This class will also help you finish a project from the Stained Glass Quilt Class offered later.)
You will need a regular sewing machine and manual, darning or free motion quilting foot, and acrylic extension table if you have one. We have extra machines at the Lab so if you don’t have these items, let us know.

Time: 2:00pm - 4:00pm
This 3-session class is appropriate for adults with some sewing experience.
What to bring: You will need a regular sewing machine and manual, darning or free motion quilting foot, and acrylic extension table if you have one. We have extra machines at the Lab so if you don’t have these items, let us know. You will need a yard of solid color fabric and two pieces of batting about 18”x22” each. Bring matching thread and contrasting thread.

We will start with practice sandwiches. For this you will need a yard of solid color fabric and two pieces of batting about 18”x22” each. Bring matching thread and contrasting thread.
On the last class we will plan how you would quilt a small project you already have pieced or a preprinted fabric.
This 3-session class is appropriate for adults with some sewing experience.
Due to the nature and the popularity of our classes, refunds will not be allowed, and payment in advance is required to reserve a spot in our classes. If you would like to transfer your class spot to another individual, please contact us at 510artlab@gmail.com.
